Iasis MicroCurrent Neurofeedback

MCN is increasingly used to treat mind-related issues, such as depression, anxiety, ADHD and PTSD and many other disorders (see the full list below). It’s entirely safe, painless, non-invasive and effective for both adults and children. In a typical MCN session, small electrodes are applied to a patient’s head to reflect brain waves and encourage a ‘re-routing’ of established brain wave patterns.

This enables the brain to adjust itself by creating new brain wave patterns. Typical responses within the first few treatments are mental clarity, a sense of calmness, clearer senses, and more restorative sleep. Over 85% of patients observe a noticeable positive change in fewer than three sessions.

We are extensively trained, and certified in MCN and can design a treatment program to meet your individual needs.

Dr. Martin Mulders M.D. explaining Iasis

What Is IASIS Microcurrent Neurofeedback?

IASIS MCN (Microcurrent Neurofeedback) is a non-invasive, gentle treatment that uses very low-level electrical microcurrents to help support healthy brainwave activity. The treatment is painless and designed to help the brain regulate and restore more balanced patterns of activity.

IASIS MCN has been used for many years as a supportive therapy for individuals experiencing stress-related, neurological, and mood-related symptoms.

Why Is This Therapy Used?

Stress, injury, illness, and trauma may contribute to dysregulated brainwave patterns that affect mood, sleep, cognition, and stress response. IASIS MCN is used as a supportive therapy to help promote relaxation, improve nervous system balance, and support cognitive and emotional function.

Unlike traditional neurofeedback, IASIS MCN does not require active participation from the patient during treatment and typically involves shorter sessions.

What To Expect During Treatment

Prior to beginning IASIS MCN therapy, patients complete a questionnaire and meet with Dr. Mulders for consultation to determine whether treatment is appropriate based on symptoms and individual health history.

During treatment, the patient sits comfortably while small electrodes are placed on the head to measure brain activity in real time. The treatment is quiet and relaxing, and sessions typically last approximately 3–6 minutes. Treatments are administered by a registered nurse (RN) with Level II IASIS MCN certification under the supervision of Dr. Mulders.

Patients are encouraged to stay well hydrated before treatment and to avoid stimulants such as coffee or energy drinks for a few hours prior to their session. Wearing comfortable clothing is recommended.

Treatment Planning & Frequency

Patients experience improvement within 3–5 treatments, although response varies by individual. A treatment series of approximately 20 sessions is recommended. Individual treatments are $150, or a package of 10 treatments is available for $1,200.

Patient Testimonials

”Before starting IASIS Microcurrent Neurofeedback, I had tried just about everything to help with my anxiety, depression, and appetite issues — but nothing made a real, lasting difference. I was nervous to try IASIS at first, but everyone made me feel so comfortable and supported throughout the process. After completing two rounds of sessions, I started noticing real changes. I felt calmer, more balanced, and better able to handle both work stress and social situations. Even things that used to seriously flare up my anxiety, like using dating apps, became manageable — something I never thought would feel possible. IASIS helped me feel like myself again, and I’m so grateful I gave it a chance.”

“Last summer I came down with a mysterious case of brain inflammation. One of the symptoms was extremely severe insomnia. I was completely dependent on sleep medications. I also experienced horrible anxiety and inability to process input from my senses. In desperation I started searching online for resources, because my local doctors had nothing else to offer me. My search turned up a link to information about IASIS, and I was amazed to find that Dr. Mulders (who I've known since 2014) was an IASIS provider. His office is 3 hours away from my house, but I had family members willing to drive me there and back. After a few weeks of treatment, I was shocked to find that I was beginning to fall asleep without sleep meds. Gradually, I was able to reduce the amount of medication, and now I have many nights that I don't use it at all. IASIS was able to do what none of the medications could do. It actually began the healing process in my brain.”
